Could Taking Omeprazole Be Safe For Oesophagitis And Haitus Hernia?

I am a 42 yr old female with oesophagitis and haitus hernia. I take 40mg omeprazole daily. I have been developing a worsening chesty productive cough which is aggravating my asthma. I have been on 2 courses of antibiotics which didnt really clear it up. Could the cough be linked to my hiatus hernia?
