I have had one day every four to five weeks, a Saturday or Sunday, when I have spells lasting a minute or two every 40 minutes or so. They always end with a gulp or two. They feel very awful but I would not describe them as painful, rather very uncomfortable. They start in my core and can radiate heat to my limbs. I spent time at the emergency room the first time and had lots of heart tests. My heart is fine. I had an endoscopy. My throat is fine. The first event was in January. Yesterday was the fifth event. It was still going on today. I called the gastroenterologist but he can t see me until June 21! I was hoping to have someone actually see one of these spells. They are accompanied by a little head ache. I can sometimes smell something as they start up but I can never quite identify it. I have never heard of anyone else having this and the three doctors who I visited--the internist, a gastroenterologist who was too far away for me to do the endoscopy with and a close by one, have not come up with anything
