sir,i have urine infections,test show leucocytes /plus cells --70-8- /hps and rbc 10-15 /hpf and escherichaia coli9 esbl positive ,ampc - , colaony 1,00,00 organsis/ml .. for these suggested .....bu gp and urlolgist .....1 injection .. 2 times 500 mg Anutacin ..5 days 2. tab Fersnem 200 mg 1 at BD fro 10 day 3 Niftran 100 mg 1 at BD fro 7 day and then one daily for 21 days after 5 day above injection and other medicines urine test showed leuco... reduced to 15/20 adnd RBe reduced to 6-8 ... awaiting to results of urine culture ...... my prostrate has grossly enlarged ..if urine test show sterile proposed to get lesser surgery done ... pl not I got within 15 day earlier high urine infection with high fever for which I was give 5days same injection . what do you suggest rkroy 0000/ new delhi /india mail .. Dear Patient, the enlarged prostate can cause urin infections due to the blockage of the urin, since the urethra goes through the prostate. Depending on how large your prostate is you need to talk to your urologist about the possibilities of perscription medication for it or if that isn't successfull there is the option of minimal invasive surgery to make the prostate smaller.
