Could The Gynecological Problems & Heartburn Be Linked?

I am 42 and theres no chance whatsoever of my being pregnant. My usually very reliable periods have suddenly changed this yr. I have gone for as long as 3 months without one & when they come they re either incredibly light or so heavy that I daren t venture out. More worrying lately tho is awful heartburn. It will go for a few hrs after I ve eaten but is otherwise constant. I have the following conditions: Hemachromatosis (dx 1997. monitored & controlled by venesection). Acoustic neuroma (dx 2014. watch & wait - monitored by mri. No treatment yet). Multiple sclerosis (dx 2003. Secondary progressive). I don t want to find any other health problems so have not bothered my gp. Could the gynaecological problems & heartburn be linked. Should i ignore them?

Hello,

You are suggested to get acoustic neuroma treated, though it is a non-cancerous tumor yet leaving it untreated will cause complications like difficulty in balance and hearing. Many people living with MS experience gastrointestinal (GERD) symptoms the symptoms include heartburn, indigestion, bloating, and regurgitation.

Avoid taking spicy, oily, hot food. To keep heartburn under control you are advised to take antacids or PPIs. Keep yourself well hydrated and take food in time. Avoid constipation. Take laxatives if needed. Avoid sedentary lifestyle. MS left untreated can cause gastroparesis, the muscles of the stomach and upper digestive tract stop working or work less efficiently. Get treated.

If treatment for hemochromatosis is neglected, there is risk of developing uterine problems like fibroid or endometriosis. People suffering from hereditary hemochromatosis may manifest with irregular or very heavy bleeding. Get clinically examined and evaluated. Get treated at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
