Could The Increase In The Medicine Dosage Cause Headaches?
My friend, who is 86 and has starting's of dementia, is taking Quetiapine 25mg. They increased her tom 50 mg and now she is complains that she is having headaches. Seems to have them all day, but especially in the evening. Could the increase cause that?

Headache is a common side effect of Quetiapine and there is a very high possibility that your friend's headache is due to Quetiapine. So what you can do is reduce the dose of Quetiapine and observe for 2 days , the headache should come down . But in case it doesn't then we need to evaluate for the other cause s of headache like Infection , high BP , Sinus Congestion or some problems in the brain.
But if the headache comes down after reducing the Quetiapine then it is due to Quetiapine itself . In that case you need to ask your doctor for an alternative medicine for Quetiapine.
