Could The Metallic Taste In Mouth Be Due To Taking An Expired Probiotic Or Macrobid?
i finished a course of macrobid, and 3 days after completing the RX i developed a bitter, metallic taste in my mouth. now, 9 days after i finished the RX, i'm still having the metallic taste. could it be from the macrobid? also was taking a probiotic last week, on which i just checked the label and was quite expired. any insight?
Yes, change of taste or metallic taste is a side effect commonly reported by many patients using Macrobid. Usually it takes around 10 -15 days to go away after stopping the treatment, so most probably you will be free from this side effect in few days. If there is no relief in few days then you may consult a physician
Expired probiotics is less likely to cause such symptoms, as due to expiry only efficacy of probiotics is hampered. They do not harm body functioning.
