Could The Pain Below My Rib Cage And Black Pasty Stool Indicate A Gall Bladder Problem?

For the last four days I have had black pasty stool. I have been taking miralax for about a month now. I am also experiencing pain just below my rib cage on my right side? Are these symptoms related. Could this be caused by a gall stone or gall bladder issue.

Hi,

Thanks for writing to HCM.

Black pasty stools or malena, as we call them, signify an upper gi bleeding....so you are having a bleeding peptic ulcer.... so start on a ppi and get an upper gi endoscopy done to identify and treat the bleeding point, at the earliest...
