Could The Red Marks With Pus On The Buttocks Be Shingles?

Hi! My boyfriend has small red marks on his buttocks. They seem to be spreading and last for more than a month. This morning he noticed a small red mark on hispenis. He describes it as a red mark with small pustules. I am wondering if it could be shingles

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
Shingle is characterized by sudden onset of grouped blisters on red base along the course of a nerve and is usually unilateral in distribution ( confined to one side of the body). It is also associated with pain of pricking/ burning/ stabbing type. From your description, the rash on the buttocks does not fit into the clinical picture of shingles.
However, the rash on his penis with small pustules and redness could be a part of herpes genitalis. (not shingles).
Hope this answered your query.
Take care.
