Could The Relief To Constant Pain In Hip Be Only Through Replacement Surgery?

I am looking for a doctor here in the St. Petersburg, FL area who specializes in osteoarthritis. I have had hip x-rays and they say the only thing that I can do to fix it is a hip replacement, however, I do not have the insurance at this point to even consider and am in constant pain and just want relief. The doctor gave me a cortisone shot which helped for about 4 weeks, however, never again and my anxiety level is off the charts, I need a lot more then I am on to be able to live life to its fullest. I am so tired of being sick and tired. Please advise

Hi
Welcome to healhcaremagic
After going through your query I concluded that you are having osteoarthritis of hips. According to your Doctor only treatment is hip replacement. It cannot be commented rightly without you seeing x ray of pelvis with both hips Its treatment is Diacerine and glucosamine. You can take analgesic such as diclofenac for pain relief. If not relieved by 4months course of these drugs then hip replacement can be done. You can discuss with your Doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health. Take care.
