Could The Ultra Strength Pain Relieving Patch Have Elevated BP?

I used an ultra strength pain relieving patch for low back pain which contained both disodium EDTA and sodium polyacrylate. The next morning my blood pressure spiked to 190/110 when my usual daily pressure is approx. 128/82. Could the patch have caused this dramatic increase?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that the patch used contributed to the increase in blood pressure.

It can also be related to the pain that you were experiencing. Pain can cause increases in blood pressure as well.

You should monitor the readings. If they remain high after the patch has been discontinued for at least 24 hours then you should see your doctor for assessment.

I hope this helps
