Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. As you have swelling and bump feeling it is better to have a X ray to rule out fracture. Falling by landing on wrist can cause fractures like colles fracture. In case of fracture reduction and immobilisation in plaster cast should be done for at least 6 weeks. You can apply ice packs , Immobilize by splint and keep hand elevated till you see your doctor. Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further queries.
