Could Thyroid Be Putting Pressure On Spine Or Brain Stem?
I have been having neurological issues : sixth nerve palsy, loss of taste, headaches, ringing in ears. Have had an MRI & MRA that showed no issues. I have multiple thyroid nodules with the growth going to the back of my thyroid, I am wondering if my thyroid could be the possible problem, could my thyroid be putting pressure on my spine or brain stem causing the nerves to stretch and give me my symptoms?

Hello Welcome to HCM Thanks for posting your query in HCM. Thyroid is nothing to do with your symptoms of sixth nerve palsy, loss of taste and ringing in ears.
Your symptoms are suggestive that you are having cranial nerve disorders especially abducent nerve, facial nerve and vestibulocochlear nerve. Also these cranial nerves wont have a course in the neck region so that thyroid can press on them and cause such symptoms.
Also thyroid wont put pressure on spine or brainstem. If you are aged, better to rule out ant thyroid malignancies. If its positive, secondaries from this region may have caused these symptoms.
Hope you are happy with the answer. Thank you
