Could Tiredness And Brownish Nipples Be Due To Pregnancy?

I had the contraceptive injection at the start of march. This was my first one. Since then I have been on 4 courses of antibiotices and have had unprotected sex. I am now starting to feel sick in the evenings and have noticed my nipples have changed a brownish colour. Could I be pregnant?

Hi,
The use of antibiotics while on hormonal contraception can lead to diminished contraceptive effect and hence additional protection is usually needed. Since you did not have protection, you should suspect pregnancy. Please get an assessment of the serum beta-hCG titres to exclude/confirm pregnancy and if positive, please see a specialist and also get a trans-vaginal sonogram to see the status of the pregnancy and to decide further management. Hope you find this information useful. Wish you good health.
