Could Tiredness, sore Throat And Swollen Glands Be Side Effects Of Venlafaxine?

I have been taking 150mg venlafaxine for about 10 years. Over the last two years I have had symptoms of tiredness, sore throat, swallon glands, nausea and headaches which have been getting progressively worse. Blood tests come back normal. Could these symptoms be side effects?

Hello,

It can be a pharyngitis or sore throat and may not be related to vanlafaxine. As a first line management you can consult a local practitioner and start on antibiotics preferably amoxicillin. Do warm saline gargles for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persists better to consult an ENT specialist and plan for a throat swab.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
