Hi,
Femodette contains both
ethinyl estradiol and gestodene which is used to prevent pregnancy. This medication stops you getting pregnant by preventing the release of an egg from ovary, by making the fluid or mucus in your cervix thicker. It prevents the lining of your womb from thickening enough and makes it difficult for an egg to grow in it.
Side effects of Femodette are nausea, vomiting, headache, weakness, sudden weakness or numbness of the face, arm or leg, symptoms of allergic reactions like swelling of the eyes, face, mouth, lips, tongue, throat or hands, breathing difficulties, dizziness, wheezing or
rapid heart rate, fatigue, stomach pain,
indigestion,
chest tightness, sweating, fainting, confusion, loss of balance, mood swings, depression etc. Smoking may also cause headache, generalized weakness, nausea, vomiting, angioedema or swelling of face and eye, vomiting etc. If these side effects persist for long or bother you, then your doctor should be informed for immediate
medical help.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Zubayer Alam, General And Family Physician
