Could White Stools Be Due To Taking PPIs For Stomach Pain?

Hi, I m taking PPI s for stomach pain and recently my bowel movements are white. Should I stop taking drug? I would not want to stop because drug is helping somewhat. Also before taking PPI, I had some sort of wheezing which wasn t asthma and with the drug it stopped. Have been curious about this. Thank you. PF

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood your concerns. I dont think so that PPI is causing white stool but such type of white stools are related to severe liver problem in which due to lack of bile you will get white stools. Rule out hepaitis or cirrhosis. You must check your liver enzymes and consult a physician about this. Thank you.
