Cylindrical Eye Power, Difficulty Reading. Prescribed Powered Glasses. Treatment?

Hi Doc, My Daughter was having problem reading the school black board so i took her to an ophthalmologist . he did retinoscopy. his diagnosis is that she has a cylindrical power of (-)1.50 at 180 degrees. he suggested (-).75 powered glasses. she is going to turn 5 years this september. please tell me if this test was enough to reach this conclusion. Is there any way to cure this?

hello,
if she is comfortable with black board reading then no need to think,and there is no cure,keep a regular follow p 6mthly eye check up.can consider laser treatment after 18 yrs of age.
