Damaged Knuckle, Tendon With Swelling And Stiffness. Had Cortisone Injection, Suggested Not To Flex. Time To Heal?

i have a damaged knuckle/tendon, been doing various stretching exercises + movement has been increasing, but still bit swollen + stiff. had cortisone injection yesterday, painful + bit swollen. the doctor said not to flex it for a little while, so as not to "squeeze out the juice", but not much more info. when should i get back to my exercises + swelling constrictors?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Generally, finger injuries are notorious for developing contractures if left immobilized for a lengthy time. So, it is advisable to return to making movements of the involved joints as early as possible whenever the soft tissue healing permits.

It is a standard protocol not to vigorously move the involved joint for atleast 2-3 days after a steroid injection so as to avoid the "steroid flare up".

Hope this information is helpful .Good day
