Hi there,
Thanks for writing in.
I would like to know if an
ultrasound of the abdomen has been done. I presume it must have been done.
Is she under some kind of stressful situation. Stress and
Anxiety can sometimes induce similar symptoms.
Was she given any
proton pump inhibitors like
omeprazole /pantoprazole? Was she tested for H. pylori?
Inspite of all investigations, if a cause is not found, the cause might be attributed to some form of stress.
I would advise her to include curd in her daily diet. Curd contains lactobacilli, which helps in maintaining the normal
gut flora. Or a daily dose of probiotics.
Instead of three large meals a day, give her smaller frequent meals 5-6 times a day. Food that she is able to eat will stay in her stomach and she might not vomit.
Avoid foods that causes gas and produce
bloating sensation, like pulses, potato, beans. Avoid refined food, oily, fatty, spicy food.
Sign up for
yoga classes if you have a good instructor in your area. Yoga helps in promoting a healthy body and a healthy mind.
Regular mild exercise for 30 minutes a day 5 days a week might also be helpful in promoting digestion and good bowel movements.
Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water a day. Warm water again helps with the digestion.
I hope the above information was helpful to you.
Wishing your daughter a speedy recovery.

Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan
