Delayed Period, Negative Pregnancy Test. Diagnosed As Closed Cervix. Pregnant?
I am 20 days delay of my period, i take 2 times pregnancy test but it was negative,i go to the doctor to consult ,because as far as i know urine test is not 100% accurate. when i am in the doctors clinic they test me through blood .and then the doctor told me that my cervix is closed until now. I have a question regarding this, If the cervix is closed then im 20 days delay,is there a possibility that I am pregnant?
Pregnancy is the most common cause of delayed period, this would be checked with the blood test you had done.
Other cause of delayed period would be : physical or emotional stress, inadequate diet, excess physical activity, abnormal levels of hormones such as thyroid hormone and prolactin, PCOS (polycystic ovarian sydrome which is associated with delayed periods, insulin resistance, abnormal hair growth, difficulty conceiving).
If the test is negative then your doctor may assess any possible reasons for the delay.
I hope this helps
