Delayed Periods. Negative Pregnancy Test. History Of Miscarriages. Causes And Treatment?
I am 2 months late on my period. I have taken about 6 hpt and one blood test , all hpt were negative and the blood test said my hcg level was 2. I miscarried triplets back in November and had a d & c on December 8th, 2011. I started my period again in January 2012 and since then it s been regular. I dont know what this means, I went to my obgyn about 2 weeks ago and shes not very helpful and told me I wasn t pregnant and to go back in a year. I just want to know if I am pregnant, and if I m not, then where the heck is my period? Can you help?
Hello, Since you have had repeatedly negative home pregnancy tests and also a negative blood test which is considered very sensitive and specific, pregnancy is unlikely. Now it remains to be seen what has caused this delayed period. You need a complete hormone profile, a trans-vaginal sonogram, a proper general evaluation, urinalysis and blood profile. If everything is fine, you may be given hormones to induce a period and also to check the uterine response. This also acts as a kickback to the ovaries which may have temporary dysfunction. Hope this helps.
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood your concern. A serum beta-hCG titre of 2 means a non-pregnant state. Since you have not had a delayed period recently, this needs to be investigated further. A trans-vaginal sonogram, repeated blood test for pregnancy after a week, hormone profile and blood counts are needed after a proper clinical evaluation by an expert. If everything turns out to be fine, you will be prescribed hormones to induce a period. Thus, the uterine response also can be identified. Please maintain a healthy diet and a healthy weight. Hope this helps.
