Delayed Periods After Unprotected Sex While Pregnancy Test Says Negative

Basically... i had sex on the 17th January when i was most fertile, he had a condom but it split and we had sex previously that night as well so 62 hours after that i took the EllaOne tablet but now i'm 12 days late for my period. I've been having some pregnancy symptoms that i looked up but i dont know if i'm just making myself paranoid.. i've been for one pregnancy test and it was negative but i'm going back on Friday for another one... please let me know if it could be the morning after pill to make miss my period or if i could be pregnant

Hi,

Thanks for choosing HCM.

There are two possibilities for the missed period;
1. pregnancy; likely as you had sex on fertile days.
2. delayed periods due to ella1; as these are known to cause irregular periods.

So I suggest you get a repeat test done after 7 days using the first morning sample of urine. If it is still negative, do not worry as pregnancy will be ruled out.

The chance of pregnancy are low, as if the fertile day was Jan 17 and you tested negative 3 weeks after that, pregnancy is unlikely so do not worry.
