Developed Pain From Heel To Bottom Of Calf. Participating In A Race Next Week. Solution?
Hi think I have Achilles tendinitis. Just purchased new running shoes. Brooks Glycerin. Have developed pain from my heel to the bottom of my calf, left foot. Did a 5k this morning, had to stop running half way through and walk. never had this pain before. I am signed up for a sprint Triathlon next weekend. Really not wanting to miss this race. Going to get different running shoe ASAP that will help with the shoe part according to shoe store. But how can I get this better for next weekend? I am 62 years old if that make any difference, but been active for years. Thank you
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The symptoms that you have described are suggestive of achilles tendonitis. Pain killers, rest, hot fomentation and using an elastic ankle brace will help in decreasing the symptoms in next 7-10 days. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
