Hello,
Although serotonin deficiency is linked with depression but it is not sure whether serotonin deficiency causes depression or depression results in low levels of serotonin.
Moreover EFFEXOR can't be stopped cold turkey, since you may land up with severe withdrawl symptoms.
It would be better to talk to your treating doctor regarding this.
Never take or quit any medication without the permission of your treating doctor.
Thanks
