hello, my mother is a diabetic patient, some time the level of diabetic is too low like 50 and some too high say 400. she also intake insulin and other medicines, she is also too much week. i am very much worried about here health. she currently in Pakistan. if you can help me, than please, i am thankful to you. best regards, yasir ali
Fluctuating sugar level is no unusual especially at an older age. We need to check the exact timing and dosing of insulin. In your mother's case the fluctuation is very high and I would recommend that she undergoes CGMS (Continous glucose monitoring) to get an exact picture of when the sugars are getting low and when they are high. This will help to adjust the timing and insulin dosage better. I don't know where CGMS would be available in Pakistan but you can contact Medtronic to know where in Pakistan you can get it done... it is nowadays very much affordable and available everywhere.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help
