Diagnosed PCOS. Taking Yaz. Got Bronchitis. Have Missed Periods. Pregnant?
I have been diagnosed with PCOS and have been on Yaz for over a year. My last sexual encounter was the week after my period (last month) so which means I was taking the active tablets for a week...two weeks later I got bronchitis and was on an antibiotic...my period has still not come (the last day of the white tablets)...is there a possibilty that i am pregnant or is there another reason that it could be delayed?
Hi, Thanks for the query. The possibility of pregnancy is less if you used the pills as per the schedule. But if you missed any pill, there is possibility of pregnancy. Delay in periods can occur due to many causes. Recent illness and usage of antibiotics can also alter the hormonal levels and menstrual cycles. And also while using hormonal pills, some women may have side effects like menstrual irregularity, amenorrhea etc. So, if you have doubt regarding pregnancy, once go for blood test for pregnancy. If the test comes negative, the possibility of pregnancy is very less. You can continue with your tablets. Take care.
