Diagnosed With Bell S Palsy. Prescribed With Prednisone. Having Red Bumps And Itchy Throat. What To Do?
Last Wednesday I was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy. They prescribed me Prednisone and I've been taking that. Today, four days later, my throat has been hurting really bad. My throats been kind of itchy and irritated for days and tonight I could actually see little red bumps and I've been feeling them for over a day. I was told to go see the doctor tomorrow. Do you have any idea what this could be? It's incredibly uncomfortable and I feel like everything that can go wrong is going wrong for me right now
Hi and tahnks for the query. Looks like you are coming down with pharyngitis (acute infection of the throat). Do not worry. See your doctor. You may need a course of antibiotics and an anti inflammatory. Please follow some general measures like 1) Warm salt water gargling 5 times per day. 2) Plenty of fluids - 4 litres per day. 3) General rest for a couple of days. 4) Steam inhalation 4 times per day. 5)Avoid airconditioning, fan and cold foods. Take care, Dr Rajkishori Godhi
