Diagnosed With GERD, Fatigue, Stomach Rumbling, Burning Sensation. Taking Vitamins. Scheduled For Endoscopy. What Is It?
Hello. I was diagnosed with GERD several years ago. I am 38 years old, female. Over a month ago, I started taking several vitamins due to fatigue but had to stop due to pain in center of chest. As if pills were getting stuck there, Since then symptoms have progressed. Stomach rumbling constantly even after eating. Now, after eating, about an hour later a burning sensation starts from sternum up into throat and even into shoulders and arms. This is unlike any GERD symptom I have experienced before which was usually just belching and having an acidy taste in mouth. I am scheduled for an endoscopy this coming Thursday, but I was hoping to discuss here before hand.
General & Family Physician, Dr. Anuj Dan's Response
Hi, Well chest pain is a common symptom in GERD, I am sure you are already taking the necessary medication for it, for example omeprazole. I am assuming that your doctor wants to check whether you have gastritis and also want to take a biopsy while they are at it, to check for a H.pylori infection.
So just wait and see what the results are and well you can post the results here if you want our explanation of them.
Hope this answered your question.
