Diagnosed With Shingles, No Rash But Itching All Over, Benadryl Does Relieve It. Is This Right ?

Hello. Im 45 and in good health. Not on any medications except thyroid. Never been allergic to anything nor do I have allergies. I have been diagnosed with shingles by two doctors. The thing that really confusses me is I have no rash and I itch all over...I had shingles as a teen in 11th grade. It was honorable with blisters and was just something you never forget. So when I went to the doctor and he said shingles it was somewhat puzzling. Not because of the no rash but because I itch all over. Can this be shingles with me itching all over..its random and intense and benadryl does relieve it..

Thank you
