Hi
Chicken pox usually follows the following 3 phases:
• Phase 1: Mild to moderate fever with
anorexia,
malaise etc. for 1 – 2 days
• Phase 2: Typical rash appears from 2nd day of fever. These rashes are intensely itching which rapidly evolves into fluid filled vesicles and crust in 24-48 hours. These rashes are mainly seen on trunk and back. New rashes keeps appearing for 3 – 4 days hence we see different stages of the evolutions i.e. macules, papules, vesticles and scabs.
• Phase 3: Scabs gradually falls off in 7 – 14 days leaving behind hypo pigmented scars for 4 – 8 weeks
Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease is a self limiting disease, characterized by
• Mouth and throat ulcers
• Tender vesicular lesions on dorsum of hand/feet
• Lesion heals in 5 to 7 days
Lastly you should not
stress yourself whether it is HFMD or C. Pox; the treatment pattern for both the disease is more or less the same. Kindly have trust in your
pediatrician and let him/her hand the case.
Wishing your daughter quick recovery
Take care :)
