Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Generally, a steroid injection into the sheath of the involved tendon provides good pain free interval in dequervains disease.

I suspect that the injection might have gone into the tendon substance instead of the tendon sheath. This could be causing you more pain.

If there is no symptom relief even with injections then the only option left to you is surgical decompression and release.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
