Diagnosed With Hypertension. Will Taking Omega 3 Be Helpful?

Dear doctors, my father is diagnosed with hypertension. I have heard that omega 3 could be helpful for my father. Is it true? How can he intake omega 3 on day to day basis? Could you recommend me a brand of omega 3 that is the most suitable and efficient for hypertension people? Thank you very much for your help. Warm regards from a student in Australia.

Hi!
Welcome to HCM!
There is strong evidence that the omega-3s EPA and DHA can help lower triglycerides and blood pressure
When possible, try to get omega-3 fatty acids from foods such as fish rather than supplements. Other good food sources of ALA -- which is converted into omega-3 fatty acids in the body are walnuts ,flax and flaxseed oil ,olive oil and
soybean oil .
Consider a supplement like fish oil capsules or algae oil. Fish oil contains both EPA and DHA. Algae oil contains DHA and may be a good option for people who don't eat fish .recommended dose is 1 gram of DHA and EPA combined from fish oil daily .
hope this helps your father.take care!
