Diagnosed With Multiple Level Stenosis, Pain, Numbness In Neck, Arms, Hand, Shoulder Blades. Any Treatment Other Than Surgery?
I was diagnosed with multiple level stenosis at c4-5 thru c6-7 ranging from mild to moderate to severe with multi level osterphytes. There is anterior bulging into the csf space at c4-5 and posterior bulging into csf space at all other levels. I had a c6-7 laminectomy/ microdiscectomy in Jan 2013, which has caused increased pain and numbness in my neck, arms and hands as well as intense pain under my shoulder blades. My doctor has suggested steriod injections using Celestone since I am allergic to Medrol . My question is... is there any other treatment, including surgery, that may be a better option? I am diabetic, have high blood pressure, fast heart rate ( due to constand high pain level and currently being tested for possible fatty liver. I had a steriod injection in my shoulder last year that did not go well and ended up with a steriod flare and other side affects. Thank you for any suggestions you can give.
