Diagnosed With Prostatis, Have Irritated Meatus, On Sulfamethaoxanonle-TMP. How Long Will It Take For Clear Up?

hi, i was diagnosed with prostatis five days ago, the doctor did took urine and blood samples. everything came back normal, which confirmed his diagosis. I m on a two week regime of sulfamethoxazonle-TMP. One of my smptoms is an irritated meatus. How long should it take for that to clear up? Also, I ve been reading that usually four weeks of treatment is recommeded, should I be concerned I was given a prescriptions for two weeks? Thanks.

yes, treatment for acute prostatitis should be given for 4-6 weeks. meatus irritation may go away in a week. you may also need some anti-inflammatory drugs and drugs to increase your urine flow if that is a problem. make sure to get urself checked again after your course is complete. good luck.
