Diagnosed With Significant Bone Marrow Edema. Feeling Minor Discomfort And Gaining Weight Through Pregnancy. Treatment?
I have been diagnosed with significant bone marrow edema in my left foot with no apparent cause. Before this diagnoses I took 9 weeks off from running. After the diagnoses I was told I could run but needed relative rest. I did run about ten miles per week for a few months been then took another break for approximately 13 weeks as I was still feeling very minor discomfort and gaining weight through my pregnancy. Now I'm running again and did 10 miles today. My foot is definitely sore. Are there any treatments besides rest? Am I doing detrimental damage by continuing to run?
Hi, welcome to Health care magic forum. You had bone marrow edema, with out an apparent cause. You was told to have rest. If i try to run it is sore. I advise you to consult an orthopedic surgeon, for diagnosis and treatment. The other causes could be arthritis, calcium or vitamin defeciency. I prescribe to my patients with such symptoms neurotropic injections for 10 consecutive days, ofloxacin, and anti inflamatories till the diagnosis is established. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery.Thank you.
