Diagnosed With Stroke In Left Eye. Scheduled For Tests And Treatment. Normal BP, Sugar. Give Me Opinion

I was just diagnosed that I had a stroke in my left eye. I am to have a special test done next week which dye will be inserted in my veins and looked at by a Retina specialist. Treatment will follow. I am shocked as I do not have blood pressure problems or diabetes but need to lose about 50 lbs. What is your thought on this?

Hello,
It seems from the history that you are probably having retinal artery or vein occlusion of the retina.
Diabetes and hypertension are the common associated diseases but they are not must.
This condition can be seen in a variety of conditions and sometimes cause may not be known also.
Treatment is decided by doing fund us fluorescein angiography which is done by injecting dye into blood veins.
Hence I advice you to undergo treatment as per the advice of your treating doctor.
Thank you.
