Diarrhea, Blood In Stools, Frequent Passing Stools. History Of Gastric Bypass Followed By BM Without Bleeding. Suggest

I had gastric bypass 12 days ago. This past Monday I had my first bowel movement and there was no blood at all, even when I had a BM the next 5 days. This morning I had a BM and it was normal except an hour afterwards I got diarrhea and there is a lot of blood in my stool each time I go. I have gone about 3 times in the past 2 hours (each with a lot of blood in the stool) what should I do?

Hello,
Thank you for the query.
The first thing you need to know is if there is bright red colored blood in stool which is in more amount then immediate visit to ER is needed. If you have took food which is red in color then also you will have red color stools which is confused with blood. Hemorrhoids are the most common cause of bright red blood in stools. But anyhow you need to consult your doctor for sure as it may lead to weakness, fatigue and even loss of consciousness.Thank you.
