Diathermy Following Abnormal Smear. Why Is There Blood In Urine?
Hi there, I am a 29 year old female who underwent a loop of diathermy 11 days ago, following abnormal smear. I have since had a brown discharge , bleeding and my urine has been particulaly odourous. I contacted my GP and was given a three day course of antibiotics , which I finished yesterday. I have since noticed blood in my urine, what do you suggest? Im concerned that I may have an infection, other than a UTI .

after loop diathermy, the common side effects are
1. pain
2. vaginal discharge
3. bleeding
the bleeding may be mild or severe
in mild bleeding there is nothing to be worried about
