I fell off my bike and landed hard on my hip. I think i have a groin pull but need confirmation. Groin hurts. Hip flexor hurts. Under right buttcheek hurts. What do you think? Its been 10 days. Still limping. Getting better with range of motion but feeling more.

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
Hello,

As you fell from a bike I suspect you have a muscle and ligament injury at the hip joint due to which the healing is getting delayed and most muscles around the hip joint are painful.

I will advise you to take maximum bed rest where the muscle and ligament can heal. Post 2 weeks of rest you can slowly start exercising the hip muscles in static exercises and core stability exercise for the abdomen.

Post which range of motion will be advised and then later the strengthening exercises. Balance board training should be a part of the exercise program to improve muscle Imbalance and joint stability.

In my clinical practice of over 12 years, most cases respond well to the above-mentioned procedure under a guided physiotherapist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
