Difficulty Passing Stools, No Bleeding, Hard To Pass Gas, Pain In Rectal Area. Causes?
Hello doctor, I m a 45 yearold women and I ve been having a difficult time having bowel moments even though I m not constipated. I need to push hard and nothing comes down, when it does it s very little. No blood in my stool and it s even hard to pass gas. I also feel pain in my rectal area. Doctor checked me and didn t feel anything in my rectum . Thank you.
Such symptoms can be caused by large intestine polyps or colon cancer. Bleeding does not have to be visible but it can be present. If you have lost some weight recently or there is slightly reduced level of hemoglobin colon cancer is very possible. That is why you should have colonoscopy performed. Abdominal ultrasound with fool blood work is also advisable.
It may turn that the only reason of your constipations is bad diet however colon cancer should be ruled out first.
If it is about diet, you should increase fiber rich products, reduce fatty foods and have more physical activity.
Hope this will help.
Regards.
