Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi there ~

I understand your concerns. Although I do not have a complete history and you are probably a very anxious caregiver for the patient which can itself be draining, I suggest that you visit with a qualified psychiatrist for a second opinion. I usually try my patients with depression or psychotic depression with medications first before taking them to ECT. I hope this helps. There are various medications that can be tried to make the patient feel better before or during which time you start therapy or counseling. I hope this helps. It is important to take care of your own health when you are a caregiver. Take care and have a lovely day!
