Is epinephrine ever really injected directly into the heart via the chest with a large needle and if so for what purpose? Heart attacks?? or is that just ty hype

                                                                Hi.. Intracardiac injections were used a few years ago for rapid onset of actions. But their use now is been deferred, as there seems to be no advantage over intravenous injection. So the use of intracardiac injections (injections administered directly to the heart through the chest wall) has now become outdated.. Epinephrine is one of the emergency drugs used for resuscitaition, when there is a cardiac arrest.
