Do HCTZ, Lisinopril, Propranolol And Paxil Cause Restless Leg Syndrome?

I have hereditary spastic paraplegia for which I m taking baclofen to relax my leg muscles, gabapentin for peripheral neuropathy, pramipexole for RLS. I m taking HCTZ, Lisinopril and propranolol for hypertension as well as Paxil. Last night I had a rather bad episode of RLS along with spasms in my left leg. AS the night went on I got cold, starting with my legs and finally my whole body. I normally sleep in my underwear with 2 light blankets and a sheet on me. last night I had to add a blanket and put sweats, socks and a long sleeved t-shirt on along with an additional blanket. Can this be caused by the meds or is this something related to my high blood pressure?

Hello,

I think you had a bad spastic episode last night. Most probably precipitated by loss of electrolytes from HCTZ intake. I'd suggest to discuss with your caring doctor about possible side effects of diuretics like HCTZ.

Measure blood electrolytes. Based on the results, should take magnesium, calcium and other vitamins/minerals supplementation.
