Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It is not safe to take these medications together. However, it needs a closed monitoring.
Wellbutrin drug may rarely cause seizures as its one of the side effects, and combine it with other medications that can also cause seizures such as Pristiq may increase that risk.
Your daughter may be more susceptible since she has suffered from
pseudotumor cerebri.
In addition, if Trokendi is taken along with Pristiq, it may increase side effects such as
dizziness,
drowsiness, confusion, difficulty concentrating, impaired thinking or judgment, and motor
incoordination which may result in falls and related injuries.
Her treating doctor may be able to prescribe effective alternatives that do not interact, or she may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by her doctor to safely use these medications. She should also avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or swimming.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
