Do Antibiotics Give Yeast Infections?

I am on the last day of a 10-day prescription of amoxicillin for treatment of strep throat and I believe the antibiotics has given me a yeast infection. I have had yeast infections in the past and usually take something over the counter to cure it. I recently (2 days ago) finished up a treatment of Monistat 3 but I am still having symptoms. I am wondering if it s safe to purchase/take this again now that I am finishing up my prescription.

Hello! Thanks for the query.
Prolonged use of antibiotics can precipitate previous yeast/fungal infections. This is common with diabetic patients. As u have already suffered from yeast infection so there is little bit risk of recurrence. So I would recommend to consult to the your treating doctor.
Please do not hesitate to write for more queries.
Thank you.
