Do Bloating And Abdominal Discomfort Need Medical Attention?

Flu-like symptoms began two days ago, headache, sore throat, achy body, nausea w/o throwing up, abdominal discomfort mostly gas and bloating. The problem that is bothering me most is abdominal gas/bloating. I ve tried Tums and Gas X along with eating a bland diet of rice, scrambled eggs, toast and crackers. Any other suggestions for abdominal gas/bloating problems and is this an issue that might need an M.D. visit? Addl. info. I am a 61 year old, female.

Many causes for bloating and abdominal discomfort like acute gastritis or irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory bowel problems or infections or gastroparesis or altered bowel flora etcetera. Use tablet Nexium before breakfast for one week. You need to be evaluated so please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
