Warm welcome to Healthcaremagic.com I have evaluated your query in details .
* When the patient is on blood thinners , ideally before 72 hours of the procedure the blood thinner consumption has to be stopped by the surgeon and later on patient can not take further doses until 72 hours of the surgery as it prevents function of coagulation factors .
* May be some sort of breach in conveyance of the dosage intake or else is responsible for the heavy blood loss , which needs to be evaluated via thorough hematological work up and precise management .
Hope this will help to clear your doubt . Wishing you fine recovery .
