Do Burdock Root, Sea Moss, Bladderwrack And Iron Fluorine React With Any Medication?

I take Famciclovir 250 mg twice daily and Aspirin 81 mg daily. My daughter takes burdock root, sea moss, and bladderwrack, and iron fluorine and says she feels great and has more energy. She thinks I should take these also but I don t know if they would react adversely with my current medications.

Hi,

There is no reason to suspect that the natural medications that your daughter is taken should interfere with your current medication. I have done a deep search in various databases, and have been unable to find any reason to suspect any interaction between your current medication and what your daughter takes.

As with any natural medication, I always advice my patients to be vigilant in the weeks following starting new medication - but natural and pharmaceutical, so that any adverse reactions may be caught early.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Maria Riechel-Sarup, General & Family Physician
