Do Diuretics Disrupt Menstruation Cycle?

I went on diuretics due to water retention. Took them for three months and the was advised to stop. Two weeks after I was supposed to get my period, I had all the symptoms and even spotted one day. Now 18 days have passed and still no period. I gained six pounds right before my period was due (this usually happens and I loose it again mid period), I have not lost the extra pounds yet. I am not pregnant. Could the pills have tampered with my period or could it be something else. I am 27 years old so it could not be menopause. Sorry if I have misspelled, English is not my first language. Hope you are able to help - M

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. Diuretics routinely doesn't affect menstruation. So it most probably it is due to some other cause. You should consult gynecologist and go for examination. Then you should take treatment accordingly.
