Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Do Lower Intestinal Flutters Occur During Specific Activities Like Cough, Blowing The Nose, Or Sneezing For About A Year?
When I cough, blow my nose, sneeze or anything strain or just standing straight up and move some random way, my lower intestines move or flutter, if I bend over it doesn’t seem to do it, it’s way lower between my groin and below my stomach pretty much all the way across maybe a little more center or to the slight right. Been doing it for about a year now off and on and when it does it last a month or two
Don't blow the nose or cough too hard. Be gentle with yourself. Though these sensations are harmless and temporary, it may be indicative of increased intra-abdominal pressure or undue muscle contractions. In rare neurological condition, diaphragm flutter may occur. Activities that stimulate the nervous system, such as coughing or sneezing, might indirectly affect the nerves that control intestinal motility, leading to fluttering sensations.
Other medical conditions that cause such symptoms are gastric reflux or acidity. You can take pantoprazole, one stat when needed to get rid of gastritis. Avoid spicy, oily, junk food. Celiac diseases and digestive tract disabilities may also cause it.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
